NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS AREN’T EASY TO KEEP.
Don’t worry. Palate Coffee Brewery got your back. When you volunteer at Palate, you’re sure to stay faithful to your top goals.
EXERCISE MORE
Throw on your closed-toe shoes because being a Palate barista is no beauty pageant. (Even if we do have the most good-looking baristas in Central Florida—just saying.)
For every breve iced latté with extra pumps of caramel syrup, you can make up with an hour or two on your feet. Lift some garbage bags. Mop the floor. Carry some chairs.
Honestly, like, who needs a gym membership when you’ve got Palate?

MAKE NEW FRIENDS
Well that’s easy.
Many of my closest friendships were built behind the coffee bar. Sometimes through conversations during slow hours. Sometimes during a rush when we had to learn how to work together.
In the mix of personalities, one thing remains the common thread: a fierceness to fight human trafficking. It doesn’t matter what our differences are. We can all relate on our passion for the mission.

#SELFCARE
I don’t know about you. But what’s more #selfcare-y than serving others?
For me, the best thing I can do for myself is to get out and get involved in a good cause. It gives me a sense of purpose and stretches me outside my comfort zone.
Plus, I go to bed on time now and get plenty of sleep. (Let me tell you: starting my shift at 7 a.m. when I’m running on 3 hours of sleep is not fun.)

LEARN A NEW SKILL While your friends learn guitar or rock climbing, you can learn a skill that really makes the world go round: how to make good coffee. Put in the hours and you can master:
- How to pull an espresso shot
- How to froth milk for a cappuccino
- How to smell the difference between our house blend and coffee-of-the-month
- How to wash dishes like a pro. (This one’s very important.)
- How to make gorgeous latté art
Need I say more? Barista skills are pretty impressive.

EAT HEALTHIER
Did you know that coffee protects your liver? AND lowers the risk of diabetes? AND prevents cavities? AND contributes to your recommended fiber intake? (I found this on the internet so it must be true.) Now as for those chocolate mega-muffins that we sell…well, as Oscar Wilde said: “Everything in moderation, including moderation.”
FROM ALL OF US HERE AT PALATE COFFEE BREWERY, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
