Hi, Palate customers. It’s been a crazy couple of months.
But we have good news! You know how Palate’s profits go to Love Missions, an anti-human-trafficking nonprofit? Well, Love Missions now has a building!
That’s right! Love Missions now has a building for their new life center called “The Bridge.” The center will help survivors of human trafficking transition from pain to healing.
Founder and president of Love Missions Tina Kadolph says, “Courage is the bridge that crosses you from pain to purpose.” As a survivor of human trafficking (read about that here), Tina knows firsthand how the most important thing a survivor needs is hope.
“Then they need encouragement and help to not only survive, but to thrive. They need to know they have value so they can learn to live beyond their abuse,” says Tina.
The Bridge will empower survivors to identify and pursue their dream vocation through mentoring programs, life skills classes, career training workshops, and entrepreneurial educational training. It will help survivors forge a path to financial and physical independence.
The Bridge will also include art therapy to help create a well-rounded program for healing.
So this is all wonderful! But, in true Palate fashion, we want to ask: how can we help?
Well, Love Missions has the building. But there are a few things that need to get done before it can be open for business.
Phase 1 includes:
Since this was written we have been donate some of these items.
1. Painting supplies for inside the building. (Donated)
2. Vinyl snap lock flooring for throughout the building.
3. Tile or? for the bathroom floor.
4. Cabinets and countertops for the kitchen/multipurpose room. (Donated)
5. Baseboard for all rooms
6. Refrigerator
7. Sign to put on our building
Before moving to Phase 2, we need to ace Phase 1.
So if you or someone you know can donate tile or any of the other items listed above, please email Tina at tina@lovemissions.net.
So far, Sherwin Williams Clermont and Real Life Church have donated all the paint needed for the building! Thank you, both!
And 5 day cabinets has donated the cabinets and counter top.
We are so thankful for each of you and our community partners. Keep an eye on Love Mission’s Facebook page to receive updates on how you can help. We at Palate are so excited for our nonprofit’s endeavors and will continue to support them during this crazy time. Together we are impacting our community.
